About the Institution |
| Pillai’s HOC College of Arts,
Science and Commerce, established in the year 2008,
is located in a picturesque location of 35 acre
campus of green environment where learning can be,
indeed a pleasure. Another salient feature is that
even the class rooms are internationally designed
for the teacher to co-ordinate with the students
easily and efficiently. The school has a unique
teaching method, which aims at developing the students
born talents and potentional, knowledge is variety
of audio-visual teaching aids and internet facility
to student’s right will always be a blazing land
mark of Raigad district. The college is located
in HOCL Educational campus at Rasayani in a multi
- dimensional education complex which is surrounded

Eligibility for Admission |
| Admission will be given as per
directions issued by the University of Mumbai from
time to time, subject to the availability of seats
in the college. The present eligibility norms for
admission for various courses are as follows. |

| F.Y.B.Sc. (Computer
Science) |
| A candidate for being eligible
for admission to the three year integrated course
leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc
Computer Science) must have passed the higher secondary
School Certificate Examination in Science stream
conducted by the Maharashtra State board of secondary
Education, with mathematics and statistics as one
of the subject or its equivalent. |

| F.Y.B.Sc. (Information
Technology) |
| (a) A candidate for being
eligible for admission to the three year degree
course of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc Information
Technology) must have passed the higher secondary
School Certificate Examination in Science stream
conducted by the Maharashtra State board of secondary
Education, with mathematics and statistics as one
of the subject or its equivalent and should have
secured not less than 45% marks in aggregated for
open category and 40% marks in aggregated in case
of reserved category candidates.
(b) Candidate who have passed
Diploma (three years after S.S.c Xth Std) in information
technology/Computer Technology Engineering/computer
Science/Electrical, Electronics and video Engineering
and allied Branches/Mechanical and allied branches
of are eligible for admission to the second year
of the B.Sc (I.T) degree course.
However the diploma should be recognized
by the Board of Technical Education or any other
recognized Government Body. Minimum marks required
45% aggregated for open category candidates and
40% aggregated for reserve category candidate. |

| Candidate with post HSC - diploma
in information Technology/Computer Technology/Computer
Engineering/ Computer Science and Allied branches
will be eligible for direct admission to the Second
year of B.Sc (I.T).
However the diploma should be recognized
by the Board of Technical education or any other
recognized Government body. Minimum Marks required
45% aggregate for open category candidate and 40%
aggregate for reserved category candidates. |

Examination Procedure |

| F.Y. BSc (Computer
Science) |
| The college shall conduct the
term examinations for both First and second tear
while the university shall conduct the annual examination
for the third year. There will be examinations in
the end of each term of 50 marks and or duration
of 2 Hrs. in the subjects where tutorials /practical
are prescribed the marks secured in each term shall
be converted into theory component (45/30) and remaining
marks shall be treated for tutorials / practical.
Standard of passing: The
passing in the subject shall be based on the aggregated
of marks of the first and second term examinations
taken together. The appearance at both term examinations
and tutorials evolution shall be compulsory. In
order to pass in a subject a student must secure.

A minimum of 35% marks in each
subject having only one paper
-
In a subject having more that
one paper. A minimum of 20% marks in each paper
and a minimum of 35% marks in aggregate.
-
In case of subject having practical,
a minimum of 35% marks in practical separately.

| F.Y. B.Sc. (Information
technology) |
| The College shall conduct the
evaluation during the first four semesters. The
college shall also carry out the i9nternal evaluation
of V & VI semesters while the university shall
conduct at the end of each semester. A theory paper
shall carry 100 marks and a practical / tutorial
carry 50 marks (25 marks internal assessment &
25 marks practical). Semesters VI has a project
work that is evaluated 250 marks divided as two
in -semesters presentations assessed at 50 marks
each. End of the semester evaluation of 150 marks
that constitute 50 marks for the report, 50 marks
for presentation and 50 marks for viva-voce. |

| Standard of Passing |
| A student is said to be passed
if he/she secures 40% of marks allotted in each
head of passing. Theory of 100 marks and practical
/ tutorials of 50 marks are treated as separate
heads of passing.
Benefit of 10 grace marks: students
who join NSS/ NCC represent university sports event
or cultural activities become eligible for the benefit
of 10 grace marks at the annual examination under
0.0229 & 0.02298. |

| To encourage the students in academic
perusals attractive academic prize are awarded to
the students who secure first rank in F.Y, S.Y and
T.Y Examinations. Academic Prizes are awarded to
subject toppers also.
